* To carry out all kinds of microbiological operations which are involved in bacterial and fungal fermentations for the lab scale to industrial scale also surpassing the pilot scale in between.
* Perform shake-flask studies.
* To co-ordinate with manufacturing and quality departments; and related errands.
* To carry the research work and guide the juniors in their research as well.
